The sloping area adjacent to the preschool was highlighted as an area for improvement by the Care Group. With no vegetation, the bare topsoil under the trees was at risk of getting washed into the lake.
With the planting classed as an improvement and not maintenance, the project had to be costed and approved which ended up in a long and drawn out process. Initially requested as a community project, council was concerned over the difficulty to stabalise this area so the work was eventually completed by council.
Without the commitment from residents volunteering to help with the planting, this project just would not happen. Many thanks to those residents. The care group would like to continue with community projects in the future but need your ongoing support.
